The name Xaló Valley
Although the official name for this valley is ‘Vall de Pop’, Xaló Valley, or formerly Jalón Valley, comes from the name of the centrally located and largest town in the valley
In 1994 the town of Jalón changed its name to the dual denomination of “Jalón” in Castellano and “Xaló” in Valenciano
Later, in 2007, Jalón/Xaló adopted exclusively the Valencian name and since then, the official name of the town is Xaló
The Xaló Valley was classified a few years ago as the second healthiest place to live in the world! This because it has its own micro climate. According to the WHO, the area around the valley, the Costa Blanca North and the city of Valencia are both the healthiest area and city to live!
The Xaló Valley is apart from being really green, also very healthy and therefore attracts many (professional) sportspeople, general health seekers and health professionals
Where is the Xaló Valley?
The valley lies behind the city of Benissa and has easy access from Alicante and València airports by the free AP 7 motorway and is easily reached from towns such as Dénia, Altea, Calp (Calpe), Moraira, Xàbia (Jávea) and Benissa, all within short drives (or cycle rides).
